Digital Entertainment Asset Pte. Ltd. (DEA), a Singapore-based GameFi platform, has launched a new play-to-earn (P2E) game titled “麺屋 ドラゴンラーメン” (Menya Dragon Ramen). This game is developed and provided by Fly Penguin Inc. and combines RPG elements with a ramen-selling simulation game.
In “Menya Dragon Ramen,” players navigate a world of swords and magic, using NFT characters as “employees” to conquer dungeon monsters. Success in these battles allows players to gather ingredients to create and sell ramen dishes, thereby earning profits. The game also features a unique system where players can combine rare ingredients to devise delicious ramen recipes. The revenue generated from these sales can be converted into DEA’s proprietary cryptocurrency, “DEP” (Deepcoin).
The game utilizes “employee NFTs,” which can be bred using DEP to produce more powerful and rare NFTs, facilitating advantageous game progression. Additionally, “Menya Dragon Ramen” incorporates a “scholarship system” similar to DEA’s other game “Cookin’ Burger.” In this system, players who own employee NFTs can lend them to other players (scholars) to play the game on their behalf. This feature enables NFT owners to delegate one employee NFT per scholar.
Moreover, DEA has partnered with the certified NPO “D×P” to leverage P2E games and the scholarship system for creating employment opportunities, addressing poverty, and building a safety net for supporting isolated teenagers.
Takaki Ikeda, the director at Fly Penguin Inc., commented on the development of “Menya Dragon Ramen.” The game was improved based on feedback from beta testing, with various enhancements and refinements made. The choice of ramen as the game’s theme was influenced by its simplicity and universal appeal, aligning with the concept of earning through gameplay. The versatility of ramen and its popularity across various countries also played a role in its selection as the game’s subject.
“Menya Dragon Ramen” represents an innovative blend of gaming and blockchain technology, offering players an engaging and potentially lucrative gaming experience. The game is a notable addition to the growing field of P2E games, showcasing DEA’s commitment to enhancing and diversifying the GameFi ecosystem.
